OMAHA, Neb. -- John Wyatt Jr., a former Negro League pitcher who later played for four major league teams and won a World Series game in 1967, has died.

  Wyatt died of a heart attack Monday at his Omaha home. He was 63.

  Before joining the Kansas City Athletics in 1961, Wyatt pitched in the Negro Leagues. He pitched for the A's in Kansas City and Oakland and also played for the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers.

  The highlight of Wyatt's nine-year career was pitching Boston to a win over St. Louis in the sixth game of the 1967 World Series.

  During his professional baseball career, Wyatt worked in the off-season as a Kansas City real estate developer. He moved to Omaha in 1987.

  Survivors include his wife, Barbara; four children and three stepchildren, a brother and sister and 11 grandchildren.
